The Holden Special Vehicles team will have a pair of icons that will be offered around Australia in order to add more to this amazing group and allow the team to grow and give those in the country that want a muscle car or a pickup truck to have the drive they desire. This team will receive the model from Chevrolet in the next few months and these models will make it possible for Holden to continue to be an excellent way to have the drive that can be a lot of fun for those that choose these vehicles.
Even though Chevrolet ended its production run in Australia at Holden when they discontinued the SS which was one of the most powerful sedans ever offered on the market, Chevrolet is making a comeback in the country with the HSV team to help them offer the Camaro and the Silverado for the drive that many will enjoy on the roads around the country. These cars will have to be converted to right-hand drive models, but once that’s done, the HSV team can start to offer them at the showrooms in Melbourne.
What will the HSV team offer its customers?
While the offering of Camaro seems easy and to the point for a team that’s named to offer special vehicles, the reality is both the Camaro and Silverado models that will make their way to Australia will be those that give the owners more for the drive. Neither of these vehicles will be offered in the base models that we see in the US. The expected timeframe for these vehicles to make their way to the showrooms is in July 2018 once these vehicles have been put to the changes that need to take place to make them legal in the country.
The Chevrolet Silverado will be the first to arrive and it will be the 2500HD that will start to have the conversions needed before the 3500HD arrives. The 2500 will be offered in the WT, LTZ, Midnight Edition, and Custom Sports trim to give owners a great way to drive. The 3500 will only be offered in the LTZ trim making it a luxury-laden large truck for the work that needs to get done. All trucks will be offered with the impressive 6.6-liter Duramax V8 Diesel engine that’s attached to an Allison 1000 six-speed automatic transmission.
When it comes to the Camaro, the amazing 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine will be offered in the 2SS spec to make sure you can have the drive desired. Those that want to enjoy this car will have the choice of either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission to give you the powertrain and driving consideration you need. The standard equipment offered will be items such as Brembo brakes, power adjustable heated and ventilated leather seats, dual zone climate controls, and a nine-speaker Bose audio system. These two models will give those in Australia lots of great ways to have the drive desired for work or play.
