When it comes to rugged, potent, and powerful pickup trucks, there’s nothing like the Ford F-350. This commercial beast is the premier work truck that offers plenty of power, towing capability, and style to make anyone on the job site turn green with envy.
A few sightings of Ford’s prototype for the Ford F-350 in the Detroit area have shoppers going wild with anticipation. There’s still plenty of time to see what will be included in the final version, but here is what we know so far:
A Reliable and Trusty Build
The 2023 Ford F-350 looks like it will continue the trend of using an aluminum body. This lightweight material keeps the body strong but with a lighter weight than a steel alternative. This body allows the F-350 to tow and haul more without putting pressure on the body when appropriately built.
There doesn’t appear to be any updates in the engine compartment. There are currently three engines that we expect to see under the hood for 2023:
- 6.2-liter V8 engine (386 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque)
- 7.3-liter V8 (430 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque)
- Power Strike V8 turbodiesel (475 hp and 1,050 lb-ft of torque)
Put together a strong and solid frame and muscular powertrain, the F-350 has a max tow rate of at least 37,000 pounds. Knowing Ford’s continued quest for being the best, don’t be surprised if the final towing capacity is a little higher.
Updates Inside and Out
The 2023 Ford F-350 appears to be the most fully loaded Super Duty truck to date. Ford has to keep up in the style department thanks to the competition from vehicles like the Ram 3500 and Silverado HD. This truck looks as aggressive as ever and comes with a variety of spacious cabin designs.
Inside is where the F-350 really takes off. Since no one has been inside of the prototype viewed driving around town, there are only some guesses on what kinds of features will be available. Luckily, the recent upgrades to the Ford F-150 provide some clues of what America’s Automaker is thinking.
Some think that Ford might finally include some kind of semi-autonomous driving features like we see on new vehicles like the Hummer EV. While it’s unlikely to be a standard feature across the board, we might see something with this kind of high-tech feel on upper-level trims.
You should anticipate a number of excellent options like a two-panel moonroof, power tailgate, massaging front seats, an 18-speaker sound system, heated seats, trailer tow cameras, and more. Only time will tell what Ford will make available on its most prominent commercial pickup.
Keep An Eye Towards The Future
There’s still plenty of time for Ford to decide what to include with the 2023 Ford F-350. Keep an eye open for various announcements that should be coming our way in the near future. Regardless of what Ford is cooking up, it’s sure to be an impressive and innovative Super Duty.
